In order to extract juice from apples they need to be pulped before pressing – without doing this the apples are too hard to be pressed effectively.
To make the pulp, they need to pass through a pomace machine – or scratter – a machine that basically mashes the apples up. This scratter is in a traditional style – it can be placed on top of the apple press so that the pulp falls directly into the straining bag, ready for pressing
Easily assembled at home, the stainless steel hopper measures 34cm x 30cm x 25cm. There are 8 rotating pulping cogs that are turned by a wheel that measures 36cm across.
Key benefits:
Efficient fruit pulping: To produce the most juice from your fruit yield, it first needs to be turned into pulp before you press, and the cogs of this machine will do just that, easily crushing apples into fine pomace ready for juicing
Durable and sturdy design: The steel frame and turning wheel of the scratter are pleasingly solid and the stainless-steel hopper is easy to clean and maintain ensuring that your fruit harvests can be crushed efficiently year after year
Easy to use: The heavy-duty nature of the crusher helps reduce the strain from mashing your fruit, allowing you to move your juicing along at a much quicker pace. The machine can be placed on top of an apple press so that the pulp falls directly into the straining bag, ready for pressing
Quiet cost-free operation: No electricity needed to operate this fruit crusher so the costs stay down, and no engine means that operation is far quieter than a powered model
Dimensions: The collector measures W60cm x L70cm x H36cm
